Welcome to Our New Year R Children

A Day in the Life of Reception Class at Manor

Welcome Presentation from Mrs Hale

Induction Timetable for September 2024

We are really looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you if we don’t already. I enjoy welcoming all of the new children to our school every year, because we get to share all of the wonderful learning experiences that we offer. As well as providing an exciting curriculum, the staff offer many additional, fantastic opportunities that your child will be able to take part in should they wish to.  This could be: becoming a School Councillor or a Planet Protector, going on trips, competing against other schools in sporting and curriculum competitions, baking for the community, fundraising for local as well as international charities, swimming in Year 2, joining one of our many after school clubs or performing in one of our music concerts.

The induction for all new children at school is very important. We put a lot of time into the process at Manor because we know that making sure that your child has a really positive start to their school education is invaluable! In order to do this, we normally introduce the children to school life in a gradual way at the end of the summer term and then welcome the children in using a phased approach at the start of the autumn term. Our aim is to ensure that your child comes to school every day, happy and excited about their learning experiences and making really good progress.

Accepting Your Child’s Place – Evidence of Address and Date of Birth (DoB) Requirements

In order to accept your child’s offer of a place, you must provide us with confirmation of your child’s date of birth (normally an original copy of a short birth certificate or passport) and evidence of the address used on the application (we ask for your child’s permanent address on 15 January 2024 – the date by which your application was submitted). Please provide the two pieces of evidence by Tuesday 30th April 2024. Please bring this evidence to the school office at a convenient time between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Monday – Friday).

Visits to the Local Pre-Schools

As part of the Induction programme I will be visiting the local pre-schools to meet the children in their own setting and to read them a story. I have tried to arrange dates when most children attend sessions. If your child does not attend any of the following pre-schools they are more than welcome to attend the sessions with Stepping Stones pre-school at Manor. The dates are as follows:

Starting School Timetable - September 2024

We look forward to your child starting at Manor Church of England Infant School in September. Based on our experience, we offer a staggered induction for the children that start with us.  The purpose of the induction process is to enable the children to settle well and quickly, feeling secure in the new routines and procedures.
