Reading

We are starting to learn sounds in phonics

Reading books at home or visiting your local library are great for helping your child to develop a love for reading. Children can be spotting sounds in their environment, in comics/ magazines or in both fiction and non-fiction books!

Oxford Owl website offers free membership and you can spot these sounds in the stories online.

Mathematics

We are focusing mainly on:

• counting up to 20, saying one number for each object.
• Recognising numbers to 20 and ordering them correctly.
• Finding one more and one less.
• Making patterns with shapes and pictures

Lots of opportunities to practise these skills through practical real life experiences would be fantastic.
