Pizza Making in DT

We explored where food comes from, tasted some food and learnt different food preparation skills. We then designed, made and evaluated our own healthy pizzas.

Measuring in Maths

We used the balance scales to measure the weight of objects in maths.

Christmas Craft Day

We had a great time on Christmas Craft Day!

Computing

We have been learning how to present data in different ways.

Calshot Castle Trip

We went to Calshot Castle and had a guided tour. It was great to see the castle and go inside!

Inter Faith Week

We took part in Inter Faith week and learnt about Buddhist Tradition.

Road Safety

We learnt about the Green Cross Code during a virtual workshop.

Children in Need

We raised money by buying Pudsey biscuits!

Weaving

We had a great time learning how to weave in Art.

Remembrance Day

We dressed as evacuees on Remembrance Day to remember and commemorate the past. We learnt about reasons why we remember and held a special Collective Worship. We made poppies to display.

Odd Sock Day

We marked the start of anti-bullying week by having an odd sock day. We thought about ways to be a good friend.

Autumn 2

Our topic this half term is ‘Castles’.

This half term (Autumn 2) we are reading books by Lauren Child.

Diwali

In RE, we have been learning about the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali. We explored the story Ramayana about Rama, Sita and Lakshmana, thought about good and evil and learnt about how Hindus may celebrate. We made our own diva lamp.

Music Concert

We performed songs we have learnt with Hampshire Music Service on xylophones, chime bars and glockenspiels.

Autumn Science Walk

We went on a Science Walk to Manor Pond. We identified signs of Autumn.

Be Bright, Be Seen Day

We learnt about road safety this week and took part in a fun run.

Art

We sculpted trees out of clay and painted them. We then created a forest display.

Trip to the New Forest

We went on a school trip to the New Forest. We spotted different plants and saw some New Forest ponies. We looked at a map in the forest to see where we were. We did some bark rubbings and sticky strips. We had a great time!

Our Forest Home Learning

We are enjoying learning about the New Forest as part of our topic 'Our Forest Home'.

We have been reading 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' stories and made a winding mechanism to save Hamish the cat. We had a great time making our own winding mechanisms.

In our RE lessons, we have been learning Christianity. We explored the story 'Jonah and the Whale' and thought about what many Christians believe God is like.

Science

We have been learning about materials in our Science lessons.

Geography

We have been learning about the Amazon Rainforest in our Geography lessons.

Music

We love our tuned percussion lessons with Hampshire Music Service. We are learning how to play xylophones, glockenspiels, metallophones and chime bars.
