Red Class 2020-2021

Sports Day - 21st July 2021

Week 6 (w/b 12th July) – This week Red Class have been learning about fractions in Maths. We have been using our throwing and catching skills in PE. Red Class also went on a Science walk to Manor Pond and looked for seasonal changes.

Week 5 (w/b 5th July) – Red Class made their Tudor houses this week. They all look amazing! We also created a street in Art using the collage houses. In Science, we investigated which material was most slippy and took part in an experiment.

Week 4 (w/b 28th June) – This week we have been doubling in Maths and learning about hinges in Design and Technology. On Monday we watched a great e-safety video from Prazin’ Hands puppet group. Red Class also had a lovely time visiting the local fire station on Wednesday.

Week 3 (w/b 21st June) – Red Class have continued to learn about the Great Fire of London this week. We had fun creating houses using collage in Art. We also investigated which material was the strongest in Science.

Week 2 (w/b 14th June) – We have created pictures of the Great Fire of London on the laptops this week. Red Class also had fun playing the ukulele and measuring weight in Maths.

Week 1 (w/b 7th June) – Red Class have been busy this week! We have started our learning about ‘The Great Fire of London’ and did some great observational drawings of houses in Art. We also counted in 2s, 5s and 10s in Maths and learnt about the story ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ in English. Well done Red Class, a great first week back!

Guided Reading Text (w/b 7th June): ‘Earnest’ by Catherine Rayner.

This half term (Summer 2) we are reading books by Catherine Rayner.

Our topic this half term is ‘Fire, Fire!’.

Week 6 (w/b 24th May) – We have had a lovely week! We learnt about fractions in Maths, Holi in RE and took part in trailblazer activities. We also had our first ukulele lesson from Hampshire Music Service. Have a great half term break everyone. See you on the 7th June.

Week 5 (w/b 17th May) – We have had a great time creating our self-portraits in the style of either Hans Holbein or Picasso. Red class have also been dividing in Maths and keeping active in PE.

Week 4 (w/b 10th May) – This week Red Class have been creating arrays in Maths, colour mixing in Art and playing cricket. We also concluded our science experiment and learnt about capacity and volume.

Week 3 (w/b 3rd May) – We have had lots of fun learning this week! We have been learning more about Florence Nightingale, practising our typing and getting active in PE. We also created self-portraits in the style of Hans Holbein.

Week 2 (w/b 26th April) - Red Class have had a super second week. We have taken part in walking, cricket, art, cycling, healthy eating and fitness. We also leant about evergreen and deciduous trees and drew self-portraits in the style of Picasso.

Week 1 (w/b 19th April) - We have had a lovely week back at school! Red Class enjoyed Pilates, cricket, dance, drama, scooting and fitness as part of our first well-being week. We also drew self-portraits and learnt about Florence Nightingale!

Summer 1

Our topic this half term is ‘Lady with the Lamp’.

This half term (Summer 1) we are reading books by Julia Jarman.

Week 6 (w/b 29th March) - We have had a great week at school. We had fun on the play trail, painted pictures of the Easter story and shared in Maths. Our plants have grown really well too. Have a lovely Easter!

Week 3 (w/b 8th March) - Red Class have settled back into school really well. We’ve seen some amazing learning!

Monday 8th March - Back to School:

  • Remember to bring wellies in a named bag.
  • Bring your school reading book (in your book bag).
  • Children will receive a new home reading book on a Monday. This needs to be returned on a Friday.
  • Come to school in your PE kit on a Tuesday and Friday.
  • Early bird club for children in Red class will be in Red classroom.
